Nelson, New Zealand

Temperature: high of about 70ºF, low of about 50ºF

On our second day of being based in Nelson, we ventured northwest out of the city.

The friends we made in Nelson put us up to a some lesser known hikes in the area.  Not that we had many crowds to avoid.  This hike is up to a power station that generates electricity from water as it comes out of a spring on a hillside.  The water by Julie is a stream moving at about walking speed.  It took about 2.5 hours to get up and back.
Here's a bit more detail of the Pupu stream that we hiked by.
New Zealand clay.
The Pupu Spring has its own hiking trail, just a bit shorter.  I think if you look up inviting in the dictionary, you should see this picture.
A person we met in Takaka told us about this small park called the Grove.
The view at the end of the Grove hike rewards you with this view.
Here is the sea from the Abel Tasman National Park.  We walked along this beach and didn't run into another soul.
