Weather: high of about 75ºF and hazy

We rest and relax with the Baldaufs for a few more days.  We also do a lot of motorcycle shopping with Romald.  Here is what we find after visiting about 6 showrooms.

We could buy a used bike for about half these new prices, but I'm hoping to get by without buying a lot of tools and doing roadside maintenance.

On Kashmira's advice we go to Dilli Haat, a government sponsored market for Indian artists who come from all over the country.  These two life-sized sculptures greet us at the entrance.

There are shops for rugs, saris, scarves, blankets, furniture, wood carvings, and many things I can't really identify.  This picture is of a puppet shop. The proprietor gives occasional shows complete with a small band providing music.

Our favorite shop is the miniature painting.  This man (a nationally recognized master painter) painted all the pictures in his shop and was proud to tell us that Bill Clinton once browsed his paintings, but didn't buy anything.  We don't make the same mistake Bill made.  We buy lots of paintings done on old court documents.

Across a busy street from Dilli Haat is the large INA market where we shop for ingredients to make a Thai feast for Kashmira. It is surprisingly easy to find everything we need from fish sauce to ginza root.  Too bad our recipe does not call for a metric ton of flies, because this would be the place to get them.

Here we are in another popular market.  We tag along as Kash shops for Christmas decorations which are prominently displayed in many shops.  This boy is selling peacock feathers, which wouldn't be sold in a shop because it is bad luck to bring them indoors.  But you might risk the bad luck if you wanted to rid your house of roaches or mice, since they scare away pests.
